Skipping rope - this simple childhood activity is really 'one of the greatest exercises around'.With a skipping rope, you can burn more than 100 calories in 10 minutes and boost your cardiovascular fitness at the same time.

To get started, swing the rope with a smooth, rhythmic motion. Use your wrists to move the rope, not your shoulders, and keep your elbows close to your sides. Jump with your feet close to the floor to minimise impact, and increase the speed of the rope, as you become more comfortable with the motion.
