In my previous blog when I was talking about storing your makeup brushes, I mentioned that I had dropped by the Sephora store and I had purchased the makeup forever primer which I love so much. It's an awesome product.
The Makeup forever HD primers comes in various shades - neutral and five others. Though I had wanted to take the neutral shade, the consultant suggestted shade no 6 (apricot) for my tone.
What I liked about this product was firstly it is oil free ( I have an oily skin) and when I apply it on my face, it goes on so smoothly and it brightens up my complexion immediately. When I apply my Adonia mineral pressed powder next, it's amazing as to how beautifully the powder glides on and it stays perfect the whole day. I never had to touch it up ever once. Usually my skin starts to feel oily in the middle of the day (given Singapore's humid weather) but ever since I have started using the primer, I have not experienced the problem again. I have been using it for a week and my skin definitely looks alot better and I have even received compliments from family and friends. When you look good, you feel good!!! So thumbs up for this awesome product.
There are some of us out there who are wondering about make primers. Exactly how does this help???? I had read about primers before but I was abit apprehensive using it initially because I didn't wanted to whack my face with so many beauty products. However when I checked out its review on you tube, my doubts were set aside. So I will just go over what I have gathered from the reviews I have come across, the articles I have read, my conversation with the makeup artist at Sephora and importantly my experience with the primer.
The prupose of the make up primer is to:
- prepares the skin for makeup
- Make your makeup stay longer
- Smooths out the skin surface and evens the skin tone
- Allows your foundation to glide on smoothly and blends your makeup easily
- Creates a protective base for longer lasting and natual looking foundation
- Oil free ( great for ladies with oily and combination skin!!)
- Controls the oil and shine
- Prevents the cosmetics i.e foundation from clogging pores i.e blackheads ( I can't thank this product enough as my blackheads have reduced)
- Allows your skin to BRRRREATHE..............
So there you go guys... Apply your primer after you have put on your moisturiser and let it sink in for few seconds i.e 30 secs. You may use your fingers (clean fingers please!) to apply it to all over your face, your chin, lips, eyelids... all over your face.
